With a market cap of $149.2 billion, BlackRock, Inc. (BLK) is a leading global investment management firm offering a wide range of investment and technology solutions to institutional and individual clients. The firm manages diverse asset classes worldwide and operates in over 30 countries.
The New York-based company's shares have outperformed the broader market over the past 52 weeks. BLK has increased 22.8% over this time frame, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied 10.2%. However, shares of BlackRock are down 6% on a YTD basis, lagging behind SPX’s 1.3% drop.
In addition, BlackRock has slightly outpaced the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund’s (XLF) 21% return over the past 52 weeks.

Shares of BLK rose 2.3% on Apr. 11 following its strong Q1 2025 earnings report, which featured adjusted EPS of $11.30, surpassing the consensus estimate and marking a 15% year-over-year increase. Investor sentiment was further boosted by BlackRock’s record-high AUM of $11.6 trillion, driven by $83 billion in long-term net inflows and favorable forex impact.
For the current fiscal year, ending in December 2025, analysts expect BLK’s adjusted EPS to grow 2.9% year-over-year to $44.86. The company’s earnings surprise history is promising. It beat the consensus estimates in the last four quarters.
Among the 18 analysts covering the stock, the consensus rating is a “Strong Buy.” That’s based on 14 “Strong Buy” ratings, two “Moderate Buys,” and two “Holds.”

On Apr. 14, Barclays raised BlackRock’s price target to $990 and maintained an “Overweight” rating, citing its Q1 earnings beat driven by a lower tax rate and stronger-than-expected organic base fee growth.
As of writing, BLK is trading below the mean price target of $1,046.12. The Street-high price target of $1,196 implies a potential upside of 24.2% from the current price levels.
